I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Wooten Appliance — and Daryl Wooten himself — are The. Best. Ever.
It’s very difficult these days, it seems, to find a company that will (a) respond to your queries in a timely fashion (b) actually come when they say they’re going to come (c) give you an honest evaluation of your problem and how best to fix it and (d) also give you an honest opinion when something isn’t worth fixing and throwing good money after bad. Wooten Appliance ticks all these boxes and more.
I was fortunate enough years ago to decide to take a chance on contacting Wooten to repair my Bosch appliances solely based on their website after having had numerous negative experiences with other repair and service companies. I’ve never looked back since. I’ve recommended Wooten Appliance to some of my friends and now I have their eternal gratitude.
I give them my very highest recommendation!

Two and a half months ago my 5 year old Kitchenaid dishwasher began to leak. I called a nearby appliance repair shop. The repairman diagnosed the problem as a wearing out of a simple part of the motor assesmbly that, given the product design, required a replacement of the whole assembly.
The price quoted for the part and labor clearly supported a decision to replace rather than repair the 5 year old dishwasher.
But upon shopping for a similar model, I was not satisfied with the currently available options, as none closely matched my other appliances.
I recalled the very enthusiastic reviews I had seen of Wooten Appliance in Beltsville (kind of far from me), and thought I’d invest in a second opinion.
What a good call that was!
Daryl is a pro and a gentleman–extraordinarily skilled, and a person of integrity. He did his own examination and diagnosis, but to save time and service calls he prospectively ordered the part I had been told I needed, with the understanding that I wouldn’t be responsible for purchasing it if he did not concur with the prior diagnosis.
He did a fantastic job in repairing my machine with a brand new assembly, and additionally cleaned the gasket that had become caked with soap. He taught me what I had been doing wrong for 5 years that had accelerated the soap buildup–and how to clean it. He worked neatly and without making a mess. And he was competitive in his pricing.
His receptionist / office manager, Rosemary, was key in this very fortunate save. When I called to request a second opinion she generously and capably facilitated this successful resolution, patiently and precisely conveying Daryl’s questions, my answers, Daryl’s quote, and my concurrence in multiple phone communications. She is a terrific facilitator.
So glad I called Wooten and kept my beautiful and now rejuvenated dishwasher! I recommend Wooten Appliance with five stars, plus.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be to run a small business during a pandemic. Managing an office with staff getting sick or staying home to be with kids who cannot go to school, would be a logistical nightmare. On top of that it must also be difficult to find and retain qualified techs who know the inner workings of a variety of appliances and brands who can get parts in an environment with supply chain issues and employees quitting their jobs.
Many of us would run away if faced with such a challenge. I’m grateful Daryl and Wooten Appliance did not do that during the pandemic. Picture being without a fridge in June 2020 while we were asked to stay home and stay apart. When ours broke then, Daryl came over and gave us an honest assessment – telling us he could fix it, but the fix would likely not hold and we would be spending good money after bad. He kindly lent us a small fridge while we waited months for a new one. I never realized how many meals rely on refrigerated items until we didn’t have one. His generosity got us through. When our stove broke in 2021, he installed the new one we purchased. And most recently, he fixed our clothes dryer, but saved us the price of fixing our washing machine, saying again it would not be worth the cost to repair. Each time, Wooten showed up on time and called if the job ahead of ours took more time than expected. They gave us a realistic assessment of our appliance status even when it may not have been in their best interest to do so.
Yes there were some times when the logistics of getting through to the office was not as smooth as it could be. But these are extraordinary times that require us all to exercise patience. I’d much rather support a small local business that is honest and knowledgeable about appliances than give my money to a faceless corporation who may have the logistics down of slick websites and call centers answering phones, who may not be able to back that up with quality, personal service.
We are grateful to Wooten for the excellent service they provided to us on a variety of appliances through a challenging pandemic. We will definitely call them again when needed, even if it takes two phone calls.

Direct contact with the owner/serviceman was always available.

This is the 3rd time we’ve used Wootton Appliance on 3 different appliances and this is the 3rd 10/10 experience we’ve had with them. We were scheduled for the Monday it snowed and Daryl still got here inside the appointment window. He diagnosed the problem with our dishwasher quickly and was able to fix it in less than an hour. Excellent service for an excellent price.

Excellent, next day service. Daryl showed me what was wrong with my dishwasher, explained how he fixed it, and advised me about using it. Definitely recommend Wooten to everybody.

I highly recommend Wooten Appliance. Our dishwasher stopped working in the middle of the Dry cycle inexplicably. Using YouTube videos, I deduced that it was a blown fuse, but after taking the door panels off, I decided I didn’t want to try and fix it on my own. I contacted Wooten via their online request form and we set up a time via email for the technician to come out. Chester was our guy and he showed up at the beginning of our repair window. I want to note that because of the coronavirus pandemic, Chester was the first non-family member in our home in months. He wore gloves and a mask the entire time, and only touched what he absolutely needed to. I definitely appreciated that. He agreed that it was the fuse, and then told me I would save money by obtaining the part myself (I ended up giving him the money saved in a tip). Once I procured the part, I set up another appt via email on the next available business day. Chester again showed up on time and got our dishwasher working again. I was also able to use a $20 Yelp coupon without issue. Will happily call on Wooten Appliance if we ever have other appliance issues.

I always rely on Wooten Appliance for our repairs. Daryl (sorry If I misspelled). Has repaired our GE Monogram series dishwasher and a Wolf range oven, which we inherited when we moved into our new home 10 years ago. And we have trusted Wooten Appliance that long. Prompt, courteous, pleasant and as professional as can be they inspire confidence with every trip. Will call on them every time.

I have nothing but good things to say about Daryl and Wooten Appliance. I had an oven short out on me earlier this summer during a power outage, and the company that Whirlpool originally hooked me up with to attempt a repair was disappointing to say the least. Enter Wooten Appliance. I found them originally on Angie’s List when I realized that I’d need to hire someone to install the new unit and what a lucky find that was. Daryl has been friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
The oven I purchased didn’t fit the spot as it should (dumb) and he even worked with me to find a solution so we could make it work anyway! Requiring a lot more work and an additional visit, but 100% worth the extra effort to make it right.
Not only was his expertise appreciated but I also enjoyed his conversation and company. It’s really nice to have found someone who wasn’t just in a rush to get in and out and treat you like a dollar sign. Daryl truly cares about his customers and makes sure you’re taken care of.
